Alright, my incubator is almost stabilized with a 99 temp, but the thermometers I’m using can be off by 1 degree + - according to the reviews.

How bad is it to incubate at 98 or 100 degrees just in case?

The duck eggs right? It could mean that they would hatch out a little early or a little late. What incubator thermometer are you using?

If the temperature runs a bit high the eggs can hatch a day or two early and if the temperature is a little low they may hatch a day or two late. Good luck and have fun...

Yup duck eggs.
I’m using this Taylor indoor out door thermometer. It is basically two thermometers with one reader. The reader has its own and is designed for indoors, the outside one is just the thermometer that beans the information to the indoor thermometer/reader I put both side by side on the same wall with my house thermostat. Within the hour they were all saying the same 75*.

I put both the indoor and outdoor thermometers inside the incubator. The indoor one fluctuated more than the outdoor by .5 to 1 degree, but they do tend to Jive periodically. What I didn’t do was put the outdoor reader in a ziplock and cover with ice just to calibrate. I’ll probably do that later when I add today’s eggs. Just to be extra sure. The current eggs have only been in there for less than a day, so hopefully if the reader is off(proven by calibration) then perhaps they aren’t dead.

Oops. This is the one.

I have used the Taylor thermometer/hygrometer. They worked fine for me and if you are really close on the temp and humidity you should be ok.

Thank you for letting me know. That certainly eases my mind!
