Temperature and Humidity

The temp and humidity is universal. The only discrepencies is when people are adjusting temp in attempt to promote more females or if their thermometers are off and have used different temps that work for them using that thermometer.

100 degrees, 45-55% humidity.
After day 18; 100 degrees, 55-65% humidity.

That's what I've always seen but obviously defer to a more percise 99.5 degree if you can actually maintain such persicion.

Good Luck with your hatch.

Thank yall for the replies.

I appreicate the knowledge on this site. I learned a long time ago, to learn something new, learn from someone experienced....but I don't usually get it without trial and error on my own.

Thanks again

What's kinda funny is in what is called "lockdown" your really only trying to get humidity up some. If your humidity is high then by all means leave the lid open some. The idea of calling it "lockdown" is to keep folks from constantly opening the lid and drying out the enviorment when your trying to get it more humid in those last 3 days.

Personally I think it's only to soften the shells so they can break out easier. And then as we are all constant mothering, you'll see a pip that is'nt doing much after so will add some luke warm water to loosen/lubricate the interior of shell. Via dropper etc.

Funny how if we were paid for this we'd not care as much....Love my chickens!

I get my best results from humidity 30-40% and then upto around 65%+ for lockdown!!

Best of luck with the hatch when you get to it!!
