Temperature fluctuation.

The heating element in the 9200 takes a bit to heat up and to cool down after it's off. It could just be that it is subpar heating for an actual digital thermostat. I'm not the engineering type, but that would be my hypothesis.

It sounds like you both think that even with that fluctuation I should still be able to hatch eggs with out any major issues right?

Good news, my modified little Giant has worked well. As I mentioned before, I changed out the stock temperature control dial and added a digital temperature controller I bought on eBay. I also added a computer fan with spacers for circulation. I am thinking the temperature must have been a little high as some of the eggs started hatching at the end of day 19, however, there are no visible birth defects or issues. Thank you for your help once again.

A question for you. If your eggs started to hatch at day 19 the humidity must have been ok, so what was the humidity and did you omit the lock down?

My bator runs a tad warm for the incubations and I usually hae my hatches day 19/20. All my chicks are strong and healthy.

I tried to keep the humidity right around 60-80%. It was, however, usually on the lower side.I tried putting a jar with water and a sponge in the incubator, it seemed to help a little. I did not do that until day 18 when I removed the egg turner. I did not touch the eggs after day 18, and only opened the incubator to try and add water to the channels in the bottom to keep the humidity up. hope this help you.
