Temperature of incubation different

I m new in incubating eggs. I ve put my first eggs for hatching. Temperature on screen shows that has reached 99.5F but after putting a regular thermometer inside it shows only 95F!! (I have put the thermometer exactly on the egg tray) What shall I do? Should I increase that locked temperature 99.5 showed on the screen?

Is it a little giant still air incubator? I have one, it's pretty terrible lol I don't trust it's thermometer at all. I did find an article you may want to read about calibrating your incubators thermometer though. Hope this helps http://www.ehow.com/how_4526037_calibrate-a-thermometer.html

still air incubators your going to want to keep a little warmer 100.5 to 101.5 does the trick with still air incubators

I hope I will not boil the eggs at the end!! I m just kidding. I guess maybe the thermostat of my incubator is at the bottom where the hot air flows and consequently the temperature in the incubator shows higher than the thermometer that I placed on the egg trays. So I will rise it to 101.5 as you said!
