temperature question.

Well, just candled a handful of the barred rock roo americauna hen eggs and most are showing limb buds already. The straight bared rock eggs are dark enough I couldn't tell yet. Might get some chicks out if this set after all.

Last night several of the developing eggs became difficult to see, dark inside. Bad? Or just developing quickly? Thanks.

How many days along are they now? As they develop they will fill the egg to the point that candling is useless, all you will see is black

Only 7 days. I can see most darkening now but still can see embryos moving around in many. A few are too dark to see through. Other than developing, what would make them turn dark?

I couldn't say. I usually don't candle until day 10 and by that point can still see them swimming around

Well today is day 21, 15 of the original batch appeared to be developing so are still in the incubator. 1 ameraucana/br has hatched and 1 br/br hatched. At least 7 of the others have pipped externally. Expect the hatch to be over by tomorrow night.

When the chicks hatch , and under a heat lamp whats the right temperature then
