Hello All. I am having four, one day old Indian runnner ducks and six guinea fowl delivered on May 19. I just raised 14 chicks and 6 guinea fowl in my office until they were fully feathered. I don’t think I can do that again due to the dander, and the fact that I work from home, and am in the office all day with the door shut.
I had thought about putting them in the garage, but was worried it might get too cold despite the use of the heat lamps, but I’m going to have to come up with another option for the second batch. I’m in Southern California, and we’ve had nights as low as around 45 degrees, and hasn’t warmed up much since then. Would appreciate any advice.

Hi and welcome to BYC! I keep mine in the garage and I live in CO and it gets down to the negatives and they are fine. Just make sure they have a warm side and a cool side and they’ll be alright!
