Should I just start over? It's only 6 eggs and they were a little old anyway, but these are my first eggs. I'm fine with starting over, just don't know.

I hope they do. My normal temperature that I could get my bator stable at was 101. That's a little high isn't it? I can't get it lower though, and I don't want to lose humidity. This is just a dinky little homemade bator because mom doesn't really want me hatching in the house because we've had a brooder fire before.

I don't know if this helps but I have 36 eggs in incubator and my temp went to 120. I don't know how long it was that high but the eggs were hot to the touch. I was on day 13. I almost turned the incubator off but decided to give it a couple of days and boy was I glad I did. 24 hrs later I candled the eggs and had movement in everyone.

Here's hopeing their not born with defects. I would probably wait till day 7 and then candle them to see if you have any development.

I am totally new at hatching so hopefully someone else has advice.

I am having problems also keeping my temperature steady :9 No problems last year... I read that 101 is the right temperature for a still air incubator, so you are good there!....GOOD LUCK!

Might as well wait it out a little bit. If at day 7 or 10 you don't see any growth, then I would consider scrapping the hatch and starting over. But do wait, internal temp many not have spiked too high for too long.

I know this is an old thread but I am curious to now how everything turned out. I'm going crazy because I had such great, stable temperatures for about 5 days now. I made sure my bator temps were stable before I put the eggs in. I am now on day 2 and came over to check to make sure everything was ok and my temps spiked to almost 115*!!!!!! I cooled the eggs off but I'm scared they got cooked. So, anyways, how was your outcome?
