I have some Tenn. Reds from last year and this year I incubated their eggs. I was told that they would hatch in 21 to 23 days. While looking in the incubator on day 16, I noticed a pip. I immediatly put those eggs in the hatcher and went over my records to make sure I can count. I can still count. The only quail I know of that hatch in 16 days are Courtinex, so are Tenn. Reds really a cross with Bob Whites and Courtinex?? I am really curious. My BOB whites hatches in the prescribed 23 days. I hope someone in the know can enlighten me..Thanks

I am not sure how your Tennessee Reds hatched so soon. The hatch days are usually 23-24 days. Are you sure you counted the days right? :)

You may have a color variant of Coturnix quail. Do they call the same, or very similar to your bob whites? Are you able to post some photos of them?
Cheers,
Jessie

I got the originals from a hatchery, maybe they substituted some Courtinex variety for Tn. Reds???

Hmm, I should hope not!
Were your eggs set before incubation in a especially warm weather period/area?

Quite mysterious.
