Can someone post the details on the Cocke County (Dandridge) show on Saturday, May 1st?

Specifically, the location, times, and any major landmarks (if I've ever been to Dandridge, I was just passing through)

Thanks,
Justin

Yes definitely someone post some info on the dandridge cock county show. This is the first I've heard of this show. Will there be alot there for sale? How big is the show? How often does this show take place? Where is it exactly? I know a little about dandridge but not alot.

BB, I laughed so hard at the picture of you living in the chicken tractor. Your friend must have been struck dumb.

Latest news from the Nuthouse on Hwy 129 - I've inherited 2 geese - or rather my husband was given 2 geese by his "not so smart" brother. Now we've got to find homes for them. After I pointed out to him: 1. We have no pond - the pond belongs to our neighbors who love their lawn too much to be cover by goose poop, 2. We've got a garden we use to make money in the summer which the geese would destroy, 3. They're too loud, and 4. I'm not feeding something that's so obviously worthless. What do you do with a goose other than cook it at Christmas.

I kept telling them not to unload those worthless creatures, I don't want them, take them home and they all just ignored me. I get no respect.

This show is held 2 times a year plus at the county fair, and the Cocke County A&I Fairgrounds. They are ABA sanctioned shows as well as having several other poultry orgs represented. I only pay attention to the ABA part and Silkie group because thats what I raise.

I don't have the paperwork with me from the show. If possumblossum could repost the directions I sent him that would be helpful.

People entering showbirds / selling birds will be there from 6:30am and on. All show birds must be checked in by 8:30. You are supposed to have entries in the show to be able to sell. Last year there were quite a few different birds being sold. Everything from newly hatched chicks to started pullets to pairs of SQ birds.
There are a good number of birds shown as well. There are folks who drive quite a ways to enter their birds. If you are into OEGB's it seems to be an especially big deal. But there are a LOT of birds entered, including waterfowl.

The show is over sometime after lunch, when the judging is complete and prizes have been awarded. The end time can vary depending on the # of birds being judged and other factors. Hopefully the weather will be decent, at least until noon.
