Tennessee?

Amazondoc- there is a lady in Hazel Green, AL (northwest of Huntsville) that breeds true Ameraucanas. I chatted with her back in the spring, but ended up getting EE mutts because I wanted them sexed. Her's are purebred. I can dig up her email if you want to drive the hour or two to Huntsville to get chicks.

I'm in Murfreesboro.

Thanks for the offer! Fortunately, though, I have now located a breeder of true rumpless Araucanas who lives west of Nashville, and he has offered me a couple of his birds. Are you familiar with Dick Dickerson? He shows his birds with what looks like good success (I googled him), and he seems like a very nice guy. He is also involved with organizing the new Marans Club that is now forming (Marans Chicken Club), so it looks like middle TN is quite the hotbed of chicken activity!

I was in Lebanon again today. (edited to say -- oops, I guess it was yesterday now -- I just got back to Knoxville an hour ago!) Just moved my first load of real furniture to the new place. I'm excited over all the new possibilities! And check out my sig file for all the great birds I'm gonna have -- I've got the breeders located for all of them, and half are already paid for. I plan to have tons of fun with my great new flock!

Hi again,
Does anyone know of any flea markets, auctions, or breeders in West or Middle TN where I can get some more pullets? Where is the best place to get them?

I don't know about "best", but the Wilson County Fair (in Lebanon) is coming up the beginning of August. I have heard that it has the largest poultry show in the state, so I plan on scoping out what's for sale there.

That's cool, Amazondoc! I've got welsummers, mille fleurs and Ameraucana/EEs too. I like them all, but I confess a real fondness for the mille fleurs. They are soooooo fun! I've got tons of pics on my website (address below) should you want to see the growing process.

Good luck!

Hi again --

You have wonderful pics on your blog site.

You have Mille Fleur D'Uccles, though. I'm gonna have Mille Fleur cochins. D'Uccles often get called "Mille Fleurs" or "Millies", but "Mille Fleur" is actually just the color pattern -- not the breed.
