Glad they replaced her for you! Sorry about losing the one, its always sad. We lost one an hour after we brought the bunch home and it was still so sad even after knowing the chick for an hour and knowing it wasn't going to make it anyway.
We don't feed medicated feed at all here and I doubt that it would cause a sudden death. We do put apple cider vinegar (with the mother) in their water and sometimes a little sugar water for the first few weeks. We keep the ACV going though in the water. Its good for them, like its good for us.

Thank you, yes it very sad. And the buff was one of the breeds she could be. Golden sex link and Red pullet. There was one other breed in the bin but forget what it was.

I read up on the feed for you since I knew you wanted to know. It said medicated feed didn't need to be fed if chickies were already vaccinated because it would neutralize vaccine. It said if you are worried if that may be the reason for death then it would effect entire flock, so a solitary death shouldn't be linked to nonmedicated feed or unvaccine flock. Maybe it was a block from pasty butt or she was born with a problem. Either way you did your best & I am glad TS did the right thing. Hope that helps ease your mind a little.
