terramycin safe for ducks

I just adopted a pair of young muscovy ducks. The label doesn't mention ducks... Is terramycin water safe for ducks or should I move them when I treat my chickens????

if you are treating your chickens, you shouldn't be introducing new birds to them. the new birds should be kept in isolation, quarantined away.

by the way, why are you treating the chickens?

This is just a for future reference question... In case I ever had to treat them. I fed TONS of organic yogart the last time I had to treat. I did that with all my new hatchlings this past spring. I've had the ducks as babies since late july. Everyone gets along great. They get to roam free all day. All doing good, hope never to have to treat! Thanks for the info. Makes sense. Thats why I'm changing the water constantly!!! Thanks

i personally don't treat sick birds, i cull. the weak ones even after treated, can be carriers of disease without displaying symptoms and infect a whole flock quickly.

ducks are very disease resistant. blessings for a super healthy flock and a great enjoyment of them.

I see that you have turkeys. How are they, do they get along with the other poultry?? I was thinking of adding a pair to the family next spring just for the fun of it!!

they are pretty easy to raise. a lot of people are against putting them with chickens, but i found that they followed the chickens and figured out the water, food etc. as if the chickens were 'nannies' for them.

i have blue slate (3) and bourbon red (5). both heritage breeds. they are sweet and very fun.

if you try it, you wont be disappointed.
