Terrible Drought in NC and Southeast

Water never really gets used up, it just gets dirtied up and sent on its way. The challenge is finding ways to reuse it.

The water from the washing machine can water your yard plants, just avoid using chlorine bleach. Hook up a hose to the machine, just make sure it is large enough, like those flat hoses used to drain swimming pools.

Just water where the plants are. Forget about watering the lawn, it will come back after the drought.

Well, I had to cancel my order with Ideal. They said they couldn't ship only 4 chicks, they would have to add males for warmth. I don't know what I'd do with males. I couldn't just cull them.

I may buy more pullets, but they said I need to buy about 14-16, or else the chicks won't be warm enough during shipping. I don't know what I will do with all those extras. I suppose since the chicken thing is taking off in Raleigh so well, I could probably unload them. And it's not like they'll be a big problem when they're itty bitty.

Yes, i think that is what I will do. I will place my order for more, and then worry about finding homes for them later.
