Terror on the roost

Quote:
Nope, my whole flock has been together since day one; although I imagine that any newbies would be denied places with the original flock for awhile.
I have a few girls that settle right down, a few that insist on testing mama every night to see if she will let them sleep on the nestboxes (mama - I - won't). Brigid screams every night until I shush her. She just likes the sound of her own voice. My roo often ends up being knocked off the roost by hens trying to bury themselves under him.
It's always been this way. I used to stress out about it. Now I just close the door and go about my business.

Mine fought for position too pecking each other and knocking each other off the roost. I placed a 24" wide poop board 6" below the roost pole. Now nobody gets knocked off the roost pole and they just hop on and off the poop board until they get lined up in the right order. I clean the board every morning. The chickens love it and so do I.
