I'll tell you one thing, after reading Diane's story I went and sat with my chicks wondering "who" was "he" and "who" was "she". I mean I think I have 3 hens and one roo. I'm not certain what makes me think this....LOL...and they may have to be renamed! "Dollie", "Matilda", "Einstein" and yet to name the 4th? Einstein I want to think is a roo. But who knows....I guess I think he's a roo because he seems to "win" all the little "stretch your neck as high as you can and butt breasts" thing they do. Matilda is the biggest chick, she seems wise and like she thinks she is supposed to act as "mother hen" over them all, yet never in an aggressive way. It's funny, Einstein can't seem to fly as high to some of the roosts I have in their coop. Matilda likes to fly up then the others follow suit with her. Einstein runs up and squats with his eyes on the roost. He makes a run at the perch but misses. He tries a couple more times, then gives up and walks away. When he does this, Matilda flies down to peck the ground with him. It's almost like she feels sorry for him being alone down there...LOL
Geez....I think I'm losing my mind as though I could know what it is really about!
