Test egg day 18!!!

So the eggs in my grocery store that say 'free-range organic' are possibly fertile...??? That is so cool that yours are growing! Do you know what they are? Please let us know when they hatch!

I have no idea, since there are SO many possibilities (and no telling what sort of roo is kept with the girls!).

I'm thinking... if I was selling eggs retail like that I personally would go with either a RIR or a Black Sex linked.. that's just me, though, and only because those breeds are known to be fantastic producers. Could really be ANYthing!

Countryroad1330: There is a difference between the ones labeled ORGANIC FREE RANGE and the ones labeled FERTILE. No idea if the first are fertile (it's possible, though). But the actual ones that ARE fertile at my grocery store say that.. I'm thinking because whoever thinks they can get extra $$ for them (and they are priced accordingly)

Ah, ok. I got excited and read the posts too fast. *ha* My fiance's dad eats fertile eggs, and they are store bought. I will ask him where they get them.

Gracefulbantam shipped me eggs last week, when it was below freezing for several days. After 7 days we checked them, and almost all are fertile and developing! I guess if the eggs weren't in the fridge too long, then they are still capable to growing.

How pricey were the eggs? I would guess that they're RIRs, that seems to be pretty common for brown egg laying.
