Is it true you can test whether or not an egg is safe for eating by dropping it in a glass of water? I just found a hidden nest with some beautiful eggs in it from my Maran pullet... I thought she was too young yet so I had not put her in the laying coop yet but she is an early bloomer! She was hatched on March 17th... I'd hate to throw away her eggs... anyway to test them for safety?

The float test. Yes. They say the eggs can last a couple weeks without being refridged as long as it hasn't been too hot. But I would still do the float test. And I don't know if that applies to non-fertile to fertile.

Hopefully others will have more answers for you.
