Great work everyone! Change is always hard. Im the WORST about it, I feel everyone's pain.

I really love the "similar threads" concept, and it's so great for the site for those researching that land here from google. It keeps people on the site, and keeps ad dollars working so that we all have this fabulous community!

I hear the frustrations for the fact they are old threads. It doesn't bother me because I pay attention to the dates, and sometimes, okay many times, the answers I am seeking are located in older threads.

Is there a way to make similar threads fall within a date range?

I have seen too many old threads revived by posters that are there for the sole purpose of posting bad or controversial information. They get away with it because it is basically a dead thread and no one comes along to confront them.

That's not good. Some of the older threads are very informative but instead of doing some searching many just start new threads with the same questions that have been asked and answered previously. They may not always agree but often times differing opinions are good and we learn. Everyone is different and ways of doing thing too, but I don't believe much in right ways and wrong ways, mostly just different ways.

I'm with @R2elk I do not like the similar threads option. It's too "in your face" and will make old threads get replied to when they shouldn't be. There are enough new threads that don't get replied to that the old ones should not get zombified

And too many times people reply to these old threads not realizing they are 3 - 5 - 10 years old and the OP is long gone. I find it aggravating too!
