Testing of children's items??

I can't remember if it was this board or another, but does anyone have an update on the testing of children's merchandise? I know that resale shops such as Goodwill, et al will not have to test, but I thought I saw on some forum that the legislature is being held up???

Any update of this information would be wonderful!

Lat I saw it won't apply to second hand stores if they chose to sell items with out testing. That being said, it so far, seems to leave HUGE gaps for buyers to sue a retail second hand store if their child has something that ends up having too much lead and contributes to the harm of their child. I wouldn't touch toys second hand anymore... and don't take new ones. If the public is paying as much attention to this as the retailers, they will stop buying used toys out of fear. Think long term.
