I have a 2 yr old English Orpington roo that I'm pretty sure has an ear infection. He wobbles when he lowers and raises his head, won't jump on roost and is not doing his manly duty. This has been going on for months and none of my others have been affected. I have about 50. My question is. . Will tetracycline help him and how much ,and how often, to give him. He will be separated from the rest. The tetracycline hydrochloride powder is 500mg per packet. Can't afford to waste alot.

Do you see anything in his ears or do his ears look like anything in the links below?
Any video of his actions - the wobbling?

Have you checked him for lice/mites and does his crop empty overnight?

If you see infection in the ear, then cleaning it out will hopefully take care of it. Sometimes antibiotics may be needed, but the infection would still need to be cleared for them to be effective.
