Texas A&M Hatching!

what you know about that? I had a hach for yesterday.. & they were late. I have A&KM 's all over the brooder & I had some stromberg 's last year. Not A&M's for shure all DARK meat . BUt they were fun to raise . & they were REALLY GREAT ON RICE!!!

Well first off A&M's aren't all of the white birds! They got the name because of Texas A&M's poultry department. They started out brown and moved to white. The all white meat is a myth. The original A&M bloodline no longer exists. After this many years don't you think new blood would have to be added from outside stock? Now people call any white coturnix a Texas A&M, I advertise mine as English Whites because that's what they are. The black spot does not determine sex don't buy into that BS, that is a throwback gene and has nothing to do with the gender. BQL have you ever processed one?
 
Well they have dark meat, its about like the dark meat on a chicken. The breast is about like the dark meat on a chicken and the thy's are a little darker. Not tough like some say if cooked right. I have a picture of a white next to a jumbo somewhere...
