Texas A&M bred their quail to get big and do so quickly, and they do have the white color, but most of what you see out there nowadays advertised as texas a&m are so far removed from their actual breeding program that they should probably just be called "White Coturnix"

Hi! I had the A & M for a while and I think there is a slight bit of a lighter color but if you are looking for chicken breast white you are out of luck. Its more like chicken leg coloring. If you have not eaten any quail you are missing out. It is really great. Even my hubby who "only eats white meat" loves it.. It has it's own flavor and it doesn't matter what color the bird or meat. There are several sizes and colors out there, it only makes sence to get the largest bird avalable as you get more for your hard work. Good luck.

Are you sure you are not thinking of the English White I have Texas A&M quail and they are much faster growing and much bigger then the normal Coturnix that I also have.

Actually they do grow faster.. I have browns and A&M and the growth difference was amazing. A&M way surpassed the browns.
