Originally she was my only surviving red EE chick and I named her Rosey. My EEs were Rosey, Posey, and Pearl. But then Rosey started getting black and white feathers so she looked like a little hawk..and it just stuck..lol "Little Hawk". Then Posey turned out to be a roo. So my rhyming chickens didnt pan out lol
I would love to come pick a few

Kiera is a fruit fiend. Maybe i'll bring her with, if you dont mind? Tuesday or Wednesday evening?

Ill definitely let you know! Its an old house..I have a feeling everythings on one line. Our washer was going both times it happened, but it hasnt done it before in almost a year. If this auger doesnt fix it ill get the info.
I worked on it a bit but..I have to be honest. Im nervous about turning the water on right now. The kids are asleep (so early!!) And I would hate to have anything go wrong and wake everyone up..
Oh! I found milk!

How have you been Ms Bean?

I just lost a pair of chicken due to the heat. This is my favorite pair ! My yard lost several trees due to a storm in May, so this summer will be tough. Got to move lots of cages around now.

The Boy is doing fine, he turns 4 mos tomorrow. The other day my wife took him to the church at 6am to baptize him. Then she had a barber came to the house to .. cut all his hair. Now he looks like a Shaolin little monk, also kicks a lot like practicing kungfu. Then 2 days later, they had some visitors from Norway (2 friends). The group took him out for his first Real trip. He enjoyed watching crowd in the restaurant, laughing with everyone, forgetting all about his noon time nap.

I will be submitting his US birthday application soon. Still waiting to hear when Immigration to grant his Mom a case number. Once we have the case number, we can track and estimate When.

Here is Charlie in his first beer trip.

Sorry you lost your favorite chickens. :( It is getting so hot now! I"m glad we have a cool front coming this week.

Charlie is getting so big! I know you can't wait to get him here with you.

I found the chart for protein amounts. It was on the Fresh Eggs Daily site (and in my book). This isn't really a chart but the amounts are listed out by age. It's a good article.
Thanks for the chart! Lots of good info on her site. :)

So sorry you lost your favorite chickens! I hope the rest are ok.

Charlie is getting sooo big!!! I hope he makes it over here VERY soon!!! :)

I have a question for those of who use ACV. How often, why and do your chickens like it? I used it a few weeks ago. The chickens seemed ok with it, but when I went to change the water, it had stuff floating around in it. I put it in again this week, and I noticed that they did not drink as much water as they usually do. Also, when I changed the water this morning, there was a film floating on the top. Kind of like grease floating on water. When I have plain water in the bucket, there is no film or anything floating in it. I'm just wondering what ya'lls take on acv is.

He is too cute!! Seriously, one of the cutest babies I've seen.
Hope he gets over here soon!

I should be able to stop by tomorrow then :) Hopefully...we're still having plumbing issues. Called the city but it's on our side so.. :(

I put it in there about once a week, and then I also do garlic on a different day, once a week. I don't have many, so I just add a splash to their gallon waterer, or one smashed clove on garlic days. They never have any issues drinking it, but I've been doing it since the beginning.
I haven't had any abnormal water issues..just the usual dirt that gets kicked in. I think I may find something to put it on...maybe a paver in the shade.
I've been lucky (knock on wood) not to have any serious issues yet, but I can't say that's the ACV or garlic.

At least the landlord has to pay for it.

Here is my plumber. He's good and one of the better priced plumbers around.

Tomorrow will work for the pears. I have 15 qts picked it you want to take from them. I'm going to get out the ladder and get more soon. I want to make a fruit picker. Maybe I will try that tonight. I think I have everything I need for it.

I learned to add a little ACV to keep water from turning molded green. Are there any other benefit ?
