Went to the feed store today. It took every ounce of willpower I had not to walk out of the with chicks. Have you ever seen day old quail? A ping pong ball would dwarf them. Man are they tiny!!

If you don't hear from me again, it's because hubby has kicked me out. I'll be living on the streets w/ my flock

I really want those welsummer eggs...........
Are those assorted AND white cochins? or just white...
I've been wanting a artridge cochin too...
Do they have a minimum?

Yes, sis. I will listen to your advice and start invest in real estate in Sometimes Island before its price rockets up. I also listen to my co-worker Brad Pitt and bought a house in " a river runs through it" but the flood insurance was too expensive to afford.

btw, how is your day today... any more cat to skin, any more possum for stew and any more skunks for DH?

Hung, I deal in skunks not possums. Actually I have not seen anything wandering around in a while. All is quiet around here for now. Just waiting for my teenage chickens to start laying.

We are suppose to be having a metal roof put on but the roofer thinks it is raining here.

For me it was a little easier. No place to keep them once they get bigger. I'm sure I could figure something out though.

The other thing that kept me from buying was that I really don't want to get hatchery birds and I want adult birds to go through the winter, not teenage birds.

I think they put them in a bag if you don't have a box.

I really wanted some Welsummers. I can't find a breeder for them either. :/ I know if they had Delawares they would have come home with me.

There's a lot of breeds that I've had a hard time finding breeders: Australorps, Faverolles, etc
I really found I have more of a demand for eggs than I thought..If I got a few more now...they'd be just big enough to make it through the winter (which hopefully isn't as brutal) and be ready to lay in the Spring....

Hmmm....I'd get 4...a partridge cochin if I can find one, 2 Wellies, and another EE. I should have a pretty good chance at picking pullets, at least with the EE and Wellies....

I'd have to run strait there after work...or I guess go in the morning...
Or bide my time, wait for spring, and hatch out babies..
I'd better think on it.

The task is not done until all the paper work is finished.... and it lasts for ever.. still working on the paperwork for Charlie. Then on top of that I am working on the money for air tickets for me to go back there and take them here. My financial planning went down the drain when the company announced that the annual bonus... won't be like the previous years. Now I need to put together a big chicken sales this coming Fall (when shipping is ok). I will need to communicate this to all the Hens and Pullets available, urging them to .. lay quicker and lay more double yolk eggs.

Weekend is coming and it's time to eat and sleep more. What happened to my beautiful waist?
