Thank GOD they moved out!!

HAHA! It's called going broke buying fresh bedding...lol! I can't STAND the stench. If it'd been any worse they'd have been out last month with extra heat.

That's why I moved the broody hen back to the coop. Lord have mercy did she stink. It wouldn't have been so bad but she wouldn't let me get into the bin to scoop up the poop and they were big piles. She would even get out of her bin, go over to the other bin that had two chicks w/ a wire cover, stand on the cover turn and poop down into their bin. She was a dedicated mother but she didn't care about anyone else. Funny does that sound like any mothers you know?

I feel you on the being able to breathe! I have 3 polish chicks in the living room, and I haven't been right since!

heh- I have four Jersey Giant babies- two weeks old in my sons room. He moved out, but he came home for the week. I had to tell him, "Ummm dont be mad but I have chicks in your room". SO NICE not having them in my face, in my air, in my bedroom. I think the next two weeks are the hardest though- growing in feathers and pooping as much as they weigh, each day.

I wish Spring would cooperate and hurry up and get here before I get to the stench stage.

I am planning on having them in side as well. I feel i could live with it but my wife is a bit of a clean freak and the dust may be too much.. she used to work at our feed store so i am sure the smell will be nostalgic!!!
