Hi mike, these folks love answering questions like this. I personally do not own any but I have also heard that once established they are relatively low maintenance. The one thing I do remember is that you need a large enough group of them as they need family there with them..

Hi Mike! So excited that you joined us!! I don't have any feathered animals currently....but planning on chickens in 2021. So I came to this site hoping to learn. I have to tell you, there's an amazing collective knowledge here about all things "bird"! Welcome to BYC Mike!
I own some guineas, they're trouble makers, feather pullers, and fly wherever they wish. But, they are good for predator alerts, they CAN be good mothers, They lay eggs, they are hardier than chickens. Though, you need quite a few for a happy flock, my male right now is pulling at my chickens feathers, so keeping them separate from any future flocks or present flocks is best.
