I am a bit nervous about chicks. I am going for pullets for now. But plan to starting from chicks for future.

Chick's aren't that bad. I hatch mine in my incubator often. They are easier to get them to be tamer that way. Never grab them from above but from the level that they are at, and sooner of later, they are hopping up on my hand, and they know that it's me when I enter the room where the brooder is at.
