(Not an emergency, need advice) My 3.5 year-old Easter Egger, named Peaches, has had a pendulous crop for about a year. I only know this because of how it looks, hanging down at rest and swinging around when she runs or scratches (see pics). Otherwise she has never had unusual symptoms; she is eating, drinking, pooping, and behaving normally and seems happy. She doesn’t seem sick at all. That said, she is a bit overweight and has a somewhat large belly (also not unusual for her).

So my question is, should I put a crop bra on her or not? Would a crop bra prevent future problems? Or, since she’s not having any problems, is it unnecessary?

Hoping to hear from an experienced/knowledgable chicken keeper or someone who has had experience with this particular issue (pendulous crop, crop bras, etc). I’m still a bit of a newbie myself. Thank you!l in advance!

If it were me, I would put one on her. That can quickly become sour crop.i have a larger girl that usually wears one for about a week and few days off.

Does her crop completly empty overnight?

Good idea. I will start checking her crop in the morning to see if it’s emptying. Thanks
