We appreciate your reply - so interesting how many different stories there are out there in chicken world.

I had started to wonder the same thing about sex-links. Our first one went at the age of 2, our 2nd one went at 2 1/2, and Chryssie is our last one, not quite 3. Feel like she's making extra effort to look like she's doing all the things chickens are so zealous to do, but you can tell . . .

One funny thing the other day: Our last remaining buff hen, Sarah, 4 1/2, is way bigger than any hen I've ever seen - always makes you chuckle. She was running very fast to go from tree to tree safely, as they all do. Poor Chryssie was right in her line, not moving fast enough. Without slowing down a bit, Sarah jumped right over Chryssie & kept running.
