Hi Everyone! My name is Rosie, and I am excited about this group. Here's a little more.about me:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes and I got my girls on 7/26/2020.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have 4.
(3) What breeds do you have? Well not sure yet but I believe 1 New Hampshire Red and 3 Isa Browns. I purchased them from TSC and the clerk had a hard time telling them apart. Waiting till they get older but one chick is noticeably larger than the others and darker in color.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Well aside from the fresh eggs, I love all animals and I wanted to try raising my own chickens for eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy reading, fishing (catch and release mostly), crocheting, crafting and cooking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I live with my supportive and loving husband and my 2 youngest sons. My youngest son who is 12, is crazy about our chicks and is all in helping me with them. We also have 3 cats, 1 small dog and 1 bearded dragon lizard. My cats are very well behaved with the chicks which I was surprised about but we don't ever leave them alone with them. Don't want to tempt their instincts.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was on my Pinterest account and I came across BYC and was so excited to see all the information available on raising chickens..
