- We are new to chickens. We bought our first 5 chickens ~3 weeks ago and we are excited to have our own source of eggs!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 5 chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
We thought we bought Barred rock chickens but I am about to post pictures to the breed group to help confirm.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Having fresh eggs that we know the wellbeing of the chickens and what was involved in their care.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Bird watching and gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It is currently my wife and I with our furbaby and now 5 feather babies. I work at a local nature conservancy and my wife is a teacher. I am interested in converting most of our front and backyard into native plant gardens and crops.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I first found BYC when I began deep diving into chicken information. BYC was a really helpful source and answered quite a few questions for us. My reason for finally joining is to start partaking in the forum itself and asking questions that arise.
