I have several small flocks: Iowa Blues, Buff Orpingtons, Arucauna, Penciled Cornish, and a very small group of full size Old English Games. I enjoy all my chickens. We donate all eggs to a local church education fund. Kids love to see the newly hatched chicks and to gather eggs when they visit. Youngsters are very interested in the different color of eggs and often puzzled when some freshly gathered eggs are warm. Several refuse to eat "store eggs"after a few visits. I am concerned about the future of the Old English now that pitting is illegal. The games are excellent mothers and beautiful. I fear many century old genetics will be lost now that fighting is gone. I do not fight birds, or sell birds for that purpose, and would like to meet other game fanciers that would be interested in preserving these full size Old English birds. I would also like to meet others with Iowa Blue flocks to share scarce genetic material. Thanks to all!
