My name is Deb my other half and I recently moved to a nice rural area of Saint Augustine FL, we've always wanted chickens and decided to look into it as my son ( who lives next door ) had an old coop he was no longer useing. I have to say we have been blessed as the first 4 chicks we got ( New Hampshire reds ) were given to us. We lost 2 but then someone gave us 3 Plymouth rocks and a roo....then I received a baby silkie. So we currently have 5 laying hens a rooster a fairly young silkie and I just ordered 2 leg horns and a Rhode Island red. My new babies will hopefully be here the end of the month and will be 9 weeks old ( about the silkie's age ) .
