Well im going to be placeing and splitting an order of chicks with a friend this week. Im ordering from cackle and Im getting 5 chicks. Shes getting 10 araucanas.

What breed should I get?????

I want them for eggs. I already have 10 red sex links/golden commets

So help me out!

Yes, they do go broody.

What about RIR or Delawares? Both are good layers and don't tend to go broody.

i LOVE my white leghorn and my 2 black giants they haven't started laying yet but they are going to soon and they are supposed to be good layers

i vote Brown leghorn? Great eggs layers and have not been over bred like the White leghorn. they lay great big white eggs that are easy to candle if you incubate.

I don't know what you can order but any of the Granny type chickens are nice, Buff Orpingtons, Delawares, any color Wyndotte

Yeah, brown leghorn is a good choice, too.

Those Jersey Giants are nice chickens - if you don't mind the size!
