Thanks

That's really awful that the neighbor's sick chickens are making yours sick.

Tell the neighbor to keep his infected birds in his own yard in no uncertain terms. You may want to consider documenting when his birds show up in your space with photos. I don't know how you feel about your neighbor, but a total flock loss (which could be looming in your future) is not going to be easily rectified. Documented evidence that your neighbor was negligent will go a long way towards recouping your financial losses. The loss of treasured pets can never be recouped, but...

You should consider having your flock tested. If/when they start getting sick you will at least know what you are dealing with. Your county extension agent can help you out with that.

I am sorry your neighbor is an irresponsible jerk. I hope his lack of responsibility has not ended in your heartache.

My neighbor is family and we have been trying to figure it out he has treated with different meds but its not getting better. he started meds the first day this happened then nothing for a while now its spread and he is out of town for a few days.

as soon as he returns there are plans for test of his birds. he takes good care of them this is just confusing because it was just the one it got better with medication just not 100% she eats now but is blind and ugly.. then al of a sudden several poped up sick we all seriously though it was some kind of sting or i thought allergic reaction from the way she looked.. i am just trying to get an idea so i know more about what to watch for so IF my chickens get sick i can catch it early .. and he bought me my chickens and i am just getting started everyone here wants it gone we just didnt know how fast it would affect others or that it would even affect others since we never thought it was contageous. if we would have know the animal would have been moved away from all the others and cared for seperate.

Oh also the person caring for the chickens while they are out of town is a LONG time chicken guy he has no idea what is causing it but says ones that have got sick ended up with wry neck. i rea that is from lack of vitamins but i know these birds get vitamins and well fed. if that helps narrow anythign down
