Thanksgiving Hatch- Anyone want to join in?

it's in the uummmm shows and swaps and trades section... something like that....

the way the trains work is you subscribe to them so you get notifications.. we BS a little in there too so not every post is an offer... but some will offer the eggs they have... someone else will say i want those i will offer these... and the next person takes that and offers what they have...

there are a few different trains...
Designer train = mixed breeds or whatever... i got some mixed ducks from there and offered some of my EE eggs....
Crazy egg train = purebreds.. but any purebreds.. leghorns, quails ducks.. as long as they are pure...
Fancy and rare egg train = anything considered fancy or rare...
there's a train for seed too.. lol..

you can always ask in the trains if what you have is acceptable for that train and then sit back and watch.... don't collect then offer though... you wait to collect until someone takes your offer.. you don't sometimes it will be a few days to a week before someone takes and offer... and the rules say you have to send out within 2 weeks of someone accepting your offer.. so that gives you time to collect fresh and get them shipped...
also in the rules.. you do not pay shipping on the eggs you receive because you pay shipping on the eggs you send...

there's also the monthly egg swap.... you sign up for it.. and shelley (the girls who has volunteered to organize it) takes everyones info and send back a name and address for you to send eggs to..
you won't know what you get unless you figure it out from shipping address... so it's potluck chicken...
you say i have LF or BF or ducks or quail.. then whether they are mixed breed or pure.... if you only have mixed you will probly get mixed in return.. (i just got really pretty cream colored mixed breed eggs from the nov swap)
and you can say i want lf or banty of other... i said anyhting except geese.. lol.. thought i had ducks for a minute because these eggs are HUGE.. lol.. but then realized the texture was wrong for ducks...
but you don't tell her breed and just categories and she matches people up.. you probly wont be sending eggs to the same person you're receiving htem from... it's fun... i'll probly do it again...

both are good ways to get more fun into your flock and satisfy your hatching cravings without having to spens a LOT of money on hatching eggs... you pay to ship out your eggs... so $10-$15 .... the swaps and trains require a min of 6 eggs... but a lot of people send a few extra.. i got 8.. i sent out 12... and of course shipped eggs dont guarantee hatching results.. but it sure is fun...

Designer Egg Chain Floridamama was the user who offered the ducks. You might want to PM her. (Ah, slight misunderstanding. I wasn't suggesting she join the train, just that there was some one on it with laying ducks.

My buttons are hatching, ones doing fairly well and on its way out of the egg a few have little pip holes pecked and more are starting to rock. It’s my first time trying to hatch anything and I’m so excited it’s so hard to wait!

OMG OMG OMG I HAVE A PIP!!!!! My first egg to make it to pip on his own!!!! None of my shipped eggs ever made it, and the only one that I ever got hatched had to have help from step one! This is the first time I've had en egg start to hatch on his own!!! I'm so excited! This is a home grown egg and this just solidifies for me no more shipped eggs! None of them ever did as well as these eggs have done from day one.

Just came back in from the coop... ALL MY FEATHERBABIES HAVE HATCHED! The last Bantam is black too...

Its been great to "hatch out with all of you " I'm going to miss this now
