Thanksgiving pies and such .....

Use the duck eggs if you want but tell them before they eat it. hat is no big deal to some may be a big deal to other. Honesty is always best.

My parents always tried to sneak things by me. I have never trusted them with food since. JMO

They wouldn't, when we bake cakes or pies with chicken eggs we don't usually say okay theres chicken eggs in this, so unless some one asks for the recipe I don't see why anyone has to know what eggs are being used.

I like it. Hubby would object. The eggs go in or I don't bake. Simple as that. They don't want to eat it, I bring it home and we eat the pies.

It's all talk... heehee. I wouldn't really. I would just tell them that I will bake the pies with my eggs... duck, chicken, guinea, whatever and they can eat them or more for me!

They sound like my co-workers. I've had the same conversation so many times if I mention I have ducks.

CW: Why do you have ducks?

Me: For the eggs

cw: What do you do with the eggs?

Me: I eat them

cw: You eat them?

me: yeah

cw: What do the look like?

Personally, I can't wait to make pumpkin pie with the eggs. I grew my own baking pumpkins this year, so the major ingredients with be from my yard. Now I just need to work on some sort of flour...

Yeah, bake the pies your way and let them know you used the duck eggs. Ask them if they want to give it a taste and see if they convert.

It's no big deal, they aren't insulting your ducks, they are just concerned they won't taste good because they don't know any better. Maybe they won't like them, who knows? I haven't eaten anything BUT duck eggs for so long I have to be polite when I'm served those puny weak chicken eggs! lol

Given how good the choc chip cookies and other items I have baked with duck eggs have been, I fully expect everyone to asked what wonderful thing I did with the pies this year....
