Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
These came as a surprise two days early despite the freezing cold Maine temps, her 5th hatch of the year.

It was perfect especially since so many of my family members think I am wacked about my chickens, now they are too after witnessing this, all 9 of them have called today to ask how they are doing. Finally they understand.
