Thanksgiving treats

I made a little feast for my flock today... my Sapphires immediately gobbled up all the hard boiled egg bits. The Marans ate a few bites of apple and oatmeal, and then finally the Faverolles shyly investigated. My Braham stayed away, since she would rather go eat clovers and worms.

Those are some well-loved chickens, and what a feast! I'm planning to offer up a slice of homemade banana bread, and maybe a little turkey pie tomorrow.

I want a brahma so bad. Are they as sweet as everyone claims? How does she do in the summer?

They are very sweet! They do pant heavily in the summer heat, but with plenty of water and shady spots, they do fine here. (central VA)
