Holy Cow, that is one well dressed turkey. I love it. Was he easy to process? How long did it take??

After scalding it only took less than 15 minutes to to pluck & dress him out, my DW did some last minute touch-up in the kitchen sink. We process often so it's not a big deal to do it quickly and nicely.

LOl you know that sleep stuff that is stuck in the corner of your eye in the morning, I had that stuff smelling like turkey for a week, that how much turkey I ate hehehehe, Heck I smelt like turkey lol.

I am thinking about doing turkey's next year how old was your bird that you processed?

mine was 24 weeks, weighed 28 lbs / 20 lbs processed... nice size, tender... they were free range and cooped at night.

6mo old when processed give or take a few days, mine are all pen raised, too many nasty critters here and somebody down the road with killer pitt bulls running loose to even think about letting them out to free range. The pen's are really big with all the comforts so they like it well enough.

Next year I am going to cut back on the feed protein % they grew way to fast and too large, they were BBW's but didn't have leg issues or anything and I fear the christmas bird may also be a tad overweight, so he's going on serious diet for the next month or he won't fit in the oven like one I had a few years back, you think I would have learned my lesson LOL.
