That time of year coming up - let's be proactive in reducing the number of dumped ducklings

Just for the record, my letter to the editor did get published on 3/16 in a weekly paper that goes to over a dozen towns.
Yay Amiga, I am taking mine up this week hoping it would get into the paper closer to Easter and be fresh on everyones mind. Thank you for the inspiration,.

I haven't been on here in a while and didn't read the whole thread, but what are the chances of getting by with posting an ad in our local paper or on craigslist basically saying, "If you did buy Easter chicks and ducks and are not prepared to care for them now that Easter is over, at least bring them here to dump them where they will be cared for properly?" I am in the process of restarting my flock of chickens and ducks after not having any for the last few years and have ample space and setup for more than I am starting with. Adding a few more chickens or ducks wouldn't be an issue at all for me.

Be worth a try at least your willing to take them in and they wouldn't be out there fending for themselves.
