THATS IT !!!!!!!!!!! I'M DONE

You have a right to keep pets, and I believe it's good for your kids too. Your neighbors have a right to keep pets too, but that right ends at their property line. Their dog is the problem. If they won't handle the problem, it becomes yours (unfortunately). Shoot the dog or take it to the pound. If they don't like it, too bad.

Dang, that's a rotten situation to be in. Sure makes me glad that I have such great neighbors. Hopefully, things will work out for you, but with no help from the officials it has to seem dismal for you at this time. Best of luck finding a resolution.

I agree with arlee453 (But I think I messed up while quoting it so sorry) I also think the pound idea is genius. I would bb gun it and if that doesn't work, then kill it (first checking that it is legal to do so). You could also put up a sturdy fence, electric or otherwise and threaten to kill it, if you haven't already, if your neighbors continue to do nothing.

You could spend a bunch of money fooling around with taking them to court. Then if you won, they probably wouldn't pay. We lost all our chickens one night. I remember an area about 100 feet square of bloody snow. My dad use to shoot anything that came in the yard, somewhat extreme, but the problems didn't come back. I would at least try to capture them and turn them over to the pound. Mostly likely you will see them again.

I just wished they would just keep their dogs away. That an't going to happen. Thank ya'll for your replies. I let ya'll know what happens. Only the good Lord knows.

Even if they don't pay you right away, the court can put a lien on their property...when they try and sell they have to pay you first...
There's no reason that a dog can't be kept in it's yard.
If it's on a leash with it's owner, it's a pet.
If it's running around my yard after my chicken, it's a predator.
Shoot it...
And I CAN too.

I have to agree with the paintball gun, then escalate to BB or shotgun. But I think getting shot with a paintball gun will hurt enough that they'll get the point. :aww I'm sorry about your babies...

Could you file a report with the police for damaged property? If you can, I believe their homeowner's insurance has to reimburse you for the cost of your birds. If not, a nice tastey block of OneBite comes in real handy....the dogs will just bleed internally and die. They may feel weak and have slight discomfort from the ascites but, all in all, it isn't a painful, miserable death. By the time they show any evidence of the poisoning(might bleed from the anus), the block is digested and gone. If you shoot one and someone finds out, you could be seeing jail time, no matter how many times you have complained and documented it.

I'm so sorry about your losses and may I add, gently, that you may have to reassess how the chickens are managed. If you can see your way clear to a generous run with biosecurity, you life will ease. It must hurt terribly in many ways to endure this.
