Thats not your designated roosting bar.

Haha! I have a good story about that one too! I was looking all over for my AirPods couldn’t find them nowhere then all of a sudden I saw my hen sitting on them like she was going to hatch them
Let her do it, those things are expensive!

I kept telling these chicks they need to learn there prepositions . . .not ON the run, not BESIDE the run, not NEAR the run, IN IT.

They've mostly got the idea now, but I still check every night.

I wanna dedicate this thread to weird places or positions you’ve found your chicken roosting in or on.

Idk if its just because of the age (8 weeks old) or if they're normally goofs and will randomly roost in odd spots. When they first started out in the coop, they were all over the place roosting. Now I’ve “trained” them to roost on the bar with the poop shelf.

I’ll share my most recent “head scratcher”. 😆😆😆
The pictures may be a bit blurry because I took screenshots from a video.

Side note: I wondered how they got up there so I went out early one night and watched them climb the wire.

I've got a couple youngsters that don't want to go to the coop at night since they've turned 6 -7 weeks old.I've found them on the shed ,fences and coop .Its the trees that worry me most but so far they haven't tried roosting in one yet. TIME WILL TELL

I trim my low branches regularly and use them as perches around the the yard and in the runs. Anything I can reach from the ground with my 6ft pole saw comes down.

My pullet Vega could not be kept from sleeping on the coop fan. I took her down every night for a whole month before I finally gave up and moved the fan to a different spot because I couldn't keep cleaning the poop off. She was really stubborn! 😆
