Okay, so as promised here are the updated pics of my girls. As you can see their feathers have grown in a lot and their combs have really straightened up and reddened. They get to free-range from 10am to 8pm and practically knock me down to get out in the morning.

They bring me a lot of pleasure and I'm really pleased I was able to do this for them. Thanks to everyone for all the kind comments.

It is true that some people think that a brown egg equals "free-range" or healthy, because they don't understand why the shell is a different color. I like the idea of "hen cams", but then I also like the idea of "granny cams" in nursing homes.

It must be really rewarding to see them go from pecked and missing feathers - they were quite a sight when you got them - to fat happy healthy girls again. WTG!!!
