just because they lost the job they had doesn’t mean they’ll remain jobless. it just means they need a new one. a situation stemming from a decision that they made.

we can continue this another time.
+1
And having a job isn’t a right. It a privilege to have. If someone can’t follow a company policy like vaccine mandate. Maybe they don’t deserve keep the job for that company. Someone else can easily replace those that don’t follow through.

Say that to the BYC members that died.
And the family of my friend Bob who just died, and to my wife whose family members have died and to my friend who is presently in rehab as a 'long hauler'.
As soon as the argument begins to get somewhere... this happens.
I am not trying to deliberately annoy,
Well, you're great at it. Hate to see if you tried. "There's no sense in beating a dead horse."
we can continue this another time.
Why? It would be fruitless.

Yes, A neighbor, good friends nephew, another neighbor... and tons more.... RIGHT AFTER they got vaccinated
Wow, @William Mellor15 you have extraordinary bad luck! 🤯

You're in Australia right? According to the Australia covid vaccine safety report, there have been "9 reports of death that were linked to immunisation". So out of 9 people in the entire COUNTRY, you happen to be personally acquainted with "at least 4" and also "tons more" who you claim to have died as a direct result of the covid vaccine.

That is literally .... incredible.

From the Australia covid vaccine safety report:

Reports of death in people who have been vaccinated

Large scale vaccination means that coincidentally some people will experience a new illness or die within a few days or weeks of vaccination.
The TGA reviews all deaths reported in people who have been vaccinated. As the number of vaccinated people has increased, so has reporting of fatal events with a coincidental association with vaccination. This does not indicate a link between vaccination and the fatalities reported. Review of individual reports and patterns of reporting does not suggest the vaccines played a role in these deaths.

Since the beginning of the vaccine rollout to 17 October 2021, approximately 32.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been given. So far, the TGA has found 9 reports of death that were linked to immunisation from 612 reports received and reviewed. The overwhelming majority of deaths reported to the TGA following vaccination occurred in people aged 65 years and older. The deaths linked to immunisation occurred after the first dose of Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) – 8 were TTS cases and one was a case of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP).

i know i won’t change his mind, but i don’t see it as fruitless.

first of all, i simply can’t abide abject lying and misinformation.

secondly, when we debate publicly, other people can read what i say and can follow the links i provide. having good information out there to combat the bad is a net positive.

I agree that the links are good, but the rest is fruitless. I have reached the point where I no longer care about the misinformation or attitude from either side. I am protected, the people around me are protected (I am fully aware of the limitations.) after that let Darwinism work its wonders.

we live in a world where you don’t have to be accountable for the things you say or what you post online anymore.

i’m not cool with that.

I get where you're coming from, Sourland. I think, for me, I am concerned about the big picture issues as well. Covid's impact on the economy is truly concerning and it's not going to improve until we get the pandemic more under control.

Also, the impact on schools and on children who are too young to be vaccinated. Especially because young children tend to be asymptomatic carriers and, while covid CAN be serious for young kids, the larger risk, I think is young kids infecting their grandparents etc.

I just want to be done with wearing masks, too. Sigh ....

Yeah but remember, masks are really worn to protect others. Especially the unvaccinated and young children.
i think here is where we diverge in our beliefs a little bit.

it's not my job to protect those people. it's theirs. i've done my part by protecting myself and my family.

if everyone took care of themselves, we wouldn't be in this mess. if people took responsibility for their health, covid would never have gained the unstoppable traction it did in the US. a mutated strain of cold virus found a fat, unhealthy population to feed on. now that we're clear of the initial onslaught, why is the onus still on the people who are doing the right thing to take care of the people who can't be bothered?
