Had to pop in and say thanks for the advice on checking my temperature. Both my incubators were running more than a degree too high. Batch 2 was already over a week in but I got the temp down to 99.5. The eggs still hatched early but this time 13 hatched, that's over double last time. Would have been 14 but an egg got rolled into the wall and got stuck while zipping and died. :( Still a few eggs that haven't pipped so I left them in but doubt they'll hatch.

a degree too high or too low makes a huge difference!

Congratulations on the good hatch!

I still wouldn't call it a good hatch but it's a marked improvement for sure. Lot's didn't develop but I think it was because they got too cold outside before they were collected. I seem to be having the same issue with some in Batch 3 but I won't know till warm weather sticks around. Hoping I can get it right in time to have a good hatch for the HAL.

It is normal for fertility to be low at this time of the year. It will be better from now til fall
