If I'm not mistaken, the max penalty for not filling it out is $5000. You can always annoy the census folks, though, through strategically placed grease and pizza sauce, and using Roman numerals to fill out age and number of people living in the house.

Mexico is a country, like say France. You can be any race and a decident of a country (example a man born in france can be white, or black, or asian). So having a family from a country is not the same thing as race. make sence now? (says the sicilian woman with the british last name, and persian middle name). Since I have olive skin I "look mexican" according to the foster agency, when they want to place kids.

I think the people of modern day Mexico are actually a blend of native Indian and European blood. Calling someone 'Mexican' is like calling someone 'American': true, but with no indication of their ethnic background, which may or may not be important for issues of statistics or personal identity.

Races are
1) White (Caucasian)
2) Black (or African American)
3) American Indian and Alaska Native.
4) Asian
5) Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander

Being from a country doesn't make you a race.
For example, you can be a white Mexican, a black Mexican, an Indian Mexican, an Asian Mexican, or a Hawaiian Mexican.

I am proud of my Mexican heritage, but I don't think I should get extra brownie points for it.

Well, if you want to really get real, African-American is not a race. Neither is white. They really should get their facts straight so they don't look so, so, well, not sure what I'd call it.
