Wow, I've heard that. Well, here in Kansas in summertime, the skies are not cloudy all day. Really. Not a cloud for as long as weeks on end sometimes. Its not uncommen to get one big rain for a day or two, or just a major night (1-7 inches) but then it clears and its just sunshine coming down, and the grasses growing up to your chest. Georgous fields of ripening grain, and the scent of nothing but baking field grains growing - its like living next to a bakery every day while the sun shines.

I want to actually have rain for a week or two, but not torrential downpours between droughts. It sounds lovely - so different. Soft rain on your face everyday, surronded by trees and mosses and lichens. I've seen the pics.

We have miles of unbroken fields and prarie grasslands with a few grazing cattle. Most trees live by houses and along creeks and rivers, or in lowlands here.
