I saw on FB that a very nice woman had her prize Paint Silky stolen from her trailer at the Nunan GA show last weekend. She developed the variety and said it was the best one she has ever raised. They wanted everyone to keep an eye out for the bird and to report it if you know where it is or who has it.

I didn't realize there were still chicken theives in our midst.

I saw that too! What a world we live in when you have to worry about your chickens being stolen. What a freakin' @$$#*!@!!!

Yep, it torques me off, too. I have a friend near here that keeps her flock of BLRW and some Cream Legbars in a chicken bunker on her mountain property. She checked on them a couple of weeks ago to find that someone had driven right up to the coop on a 4-wheeler and stolen some birds, including most of the Legbar hens and an Ameraucana that was her son's. I'd like to get a hold of whoever it was and ream them. How dare they?

GOOD MONDAY MORNING!! looks like another wet one here in mid Ga.:/ We did need the rain. In the last 3 weeks I have had 13.5 inches of it. Everyone is having septic issues. Last year it was dry wells.

Good morning! It looks like a winter wonderland here! Very beautiful to look at but Im feeling sorry for my poor chickens. Also My lockdown weekend was petty boring, a whole lot of nothing happened lol. But I woke up this monday morning, day 21, to 2 pips. Of course I have to work all day so Im going to miss all the action. How was everyone elses weekend?

I'll bet those babies will wait for you to get home from work...

Thought I would post a few picks of the variety of colors I get from the Muscoveys

This is my breeding stock

These are feed out chicks from my stock ..the chicks feather fast because I do not heat as hot as other do..these chicks are a few days old.

This is a young cockerel my DH liked and wanted me to keep..I still have him but he is a cull..He is huge for his age, just lacking in chest.

More scovy pics and a few baby ducks

This is a really old chicken..she was laying regular at the age of 7. I hated to cull her but at her age I did not want her to fall ill. She was giving up feathering after molt to continue to lay..

These were her last chicks. I kept one.

This is the grand daddy of them all..He was a big bird..I have a picture of him later in this group
..
This field is planted with Oregano, spinach, kale, squash, and pumpkin for the birds..it looks like this in late fall..they live in this field.

Grandaddy..that is a cake pan..he weighed over 12 lbs after butcher. and was delicious at his advanced age. I slow roasted him just like a turkey.
Cool Del! I like him in a pan, your supporting my efforts to move on..... Thank you for sharing!!
