They have been in turners so I am probably going to cut the bottoms out of some cartons and see how that goes for me. Thank you sounds like good advice. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? It's a good learning topic.

Awesome Mich! YAY!I got offered a deal I can't resit. My Amish neighbor came over today and asked if I was still incubating, I just looked at him and said you betcha, he said to me that the guy he raises pigs for now wants to do turkeys and is going to bring him 6 turkeys over to breed, 1 tom and 5 hens and they want me to incubate them, I was like really, he said after they find out how many, we will work the monies out, So I get to hatch turkeys, Now it's time to fire up the Old Farm Master incubator![]()

ummmmI have a question for you all on here. I have about 40 eggs that go into lockdown wednesday. 10 from wisher and 30 from my own hens. Now to the question. Should I lay the eggs on their sides in the hatcher or put them in cartons? I have hatched a couple hundred eggs over the past few years and have done it both ways but never took note as to which is better. Is the hatching position determined by the air cell size or does that matter? the air cells in my eggs are about where they should be if that helps.
